Thomas "Tom" Doyle Love

Thomas "Tom" Doyle Love, 74, of Dixon, IL, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Dixon Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, in Dixon. He worked as a Book Broker.
Tom was born on March 25, 1950, in Dixon, the son of Thomas and Marge (Quirck) Love. He married Barbara Love on May 22, 1971, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dixon. She preceded him in death on July 3, 2014, after 43 beautiful years of marriage.
Tom Love will be remembered as honest, kindhearted, and generous. He loved quiet lakes, campfires with friends and family, and long runs on country roads.
Later in his life, Tom loved spending time with his grandkids; watching them grow, spoiling them as much as possible, and giving them big hugs.
Tom lived a life of great integrity and deep faith. Every day, he made time to read his Bible, pray, and spend time with God.
In the face of a terrible health struggle for the last 10 years, Tom never allowed his suffering to define his life or his love of the Lord.
On the morning of September 30th, Jesus called Tom home to finally be with his beautiful wife, Barb, on her birthday. Our family takes great comfort know they are resting peacefully together in Heaven.
Tom is survived by his children, Jody Love of Dixon, Matthew (Jillian) Love of Batavia, IL; two grandchildren, Kendall Love, Brooks Love; 10 siblings, Bill (Nancy) Love, John Love, Dave (Kathy) Love, Pat (Stacey) Love, Eddie (Betty) Love, Dan Love, Jim (Rhanna) Love, Maureen (Jim) Ackert, Mary Jordan, and Ann (Jeff) Montavon.
Tom was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
A Celebration of Tom's Life will take place from 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm on Saturday, October 19th, 2024, at The Post House in Dixon. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
A memorial has been established.

Robert E. Lee

Robert E. Lee age 73 of Dixon passed away on Monday Sep. 30, 2024 at his home in Dixon. He was born on Oct. 7, 1950 in Dixon, IL the son of John R. "Bob" and Kathryn (Reis) Lee.
Robert was a Union Carpenter working for Bob Lee Roofing, Airtite in Dixon, and Bertel Peterson in Rockford prior to his retirement. He married Connie Rodriguez on July 4, 2010 in Byron, IL.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Connie, two sons Joe (Natasha) Lee of Milledgeville, Patrick (Jennifer) Lee of Byron, four grandchildren, step children Tammi (Wes) Sherman of Dixon, Jon (Jenny) Rodriguez of Oregon, Ron Wolber of Rochelle, 9 step grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren, sister Linda Lopatka of LaSalle IL, Pat (Judy) Lee of Dixon, Kathy Bento of Kihei Hawaii, and Beckey (Brad) Kruse of Dixon.
Cremation rites have been accorded with a celebration of life to be held at the Dixon Elks Club on Saturday Oct. 5, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Memorial donations can be made to Granny Rose Animal Shelter, the American Cancer Fund, and the Dementia Society of America. Arrangements by the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon.

Robert 'Bob' Stallings

Robert (Bob) Cecil Stallings passed away on February 23, 2022 at his residence in Orange City, FL. He will be remembered, as a hard working, amazing man, husband, dad, uncle and grandpa.
Bob was in United Air Force, he fought in the Vietnam war. Bob decide while he was alive to donate his body to science once he had passed. He had Agent Orange. He wanted to be able to help others that fought alone beside him. In hopes that one day the scientist could help others whom had Agent Orange.
Bob is survived by his wife Carolyn Holley Stallings, son Matthew Holley, and Grand daughter Savanna Holley. He has many neices and nephews.

Dennis Reglin

Dennis Gene Reglin, 73, of Dixon, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Rock River Hospice & Home, in Sterling. He worked for ComEd under many titles, from Meter Reader to Supervisor, for 39 years, retiring in 2010.
Dennis was born on February 10, 1950, in Dixon, the son of Kenneth and Ramona (Near) Reglin. He married Nancy A. (Chatham) Reglin on July 16, 1971. Dennis served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Nancy A. Reglin, of Dixon; his two children, Stephanie (Trobey) Trotter, of Dixon, Steven (Liana Coste Gaton) Reglin, of Jacksonville, NC; his mother, Ramona Reglin; five grandchildren, Madeline (Leo) Silos-Martinez, Austin Pleskovitch, Spencer Pleskovitch, Chloe Reglin, Liam Reglin Coste, with one on the way; one great-grandchild, Cataleya Silos-Martinez; two brothers, Kenneth (Nancy C.) Reglin, of Meridian, ID, Jeffery (Julie) Reglin, of Dixon; and several nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by father, Kenneth Reglin.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Dixon, or the VFW Post 540, in Dixon.

Mary Anna (Bonnell) Ryan

Mary Anna Ryan, 72, of Dixon, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Serenity Hospice & Home, Oregon, IL.
Mary was born, March 16, 1950, in Dixon, the daughter of Jesse and Madeline (Blackburn) Bonnell. She married Edward M. Ryan on June 21, 1969, in Dixon.
Mary is survived by her husband, Edward of Dixon; her daughter, Melissa (Don) Randick of Dixon; one sister, Nancy Kay (Tom) McClain of Dixon; four grandchildren, Michela, Mackenzie, Nolan, Mason; five great-grandchildren, Jayden, Jakobi, Jemma, Silas, Sivic; and her daughter-in-law, Renee Ryan.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Edward J. Ryan.
As per Mary's wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Cremation rites have been accorded.
A memorial has been established.
Michael Hoyle

Michael Hoyle, age 72, died Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Javon Bae Hospital in Rockford.
Mike was born on May 9, 1950 in Dixon the son of Richard and Lolita (Horton) Hoyle. He was a graduate of Dixon High School class of 1968. Mike married Linda Farley on October 30, 1971 in Dixon. He was employed with Sterling Central Heating and Cooling and as a Maintenance Technician with Crest Foods in Ashton for 30 years retiring in 2012, he was truly a jack of all trades. Mike loved watching drag racing, going to car shows, riding his bike, his music and attending concerts. Most importantly attending events/activities of his four grandchildren. He always put his family first. Mike was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sterling.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Hoyle of Sterling; two daughters, Melanie (Joe) Olsen of Dixon and Nicole (Matt) Allison of Rock Falls; one son, Scott (Lisa) Hoyle of Dixon; four grandchildren, Avri, Lennon, Rhiannon and Emmalyn; one brother, Vincent Hoyle of Dixon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Roger.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sterling with Monsignor Thomas Dzielak officiating. There will be a Celebration of Life following mass at the church. Inurnment at Sacred Heart Cemetery will be held at a later date. Arrangements were completed by the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.

Steven D. Malmberg

Steven D. Malmberg, age 72, of Dixon died Sunday, November 13, 2022 at his home of natural causes. He was born on April 7, 1950 in Princeton, IL the son of Harvey and Leona “Lee” (Gramer) Malmberg. Steve was a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Dennis, Nels and Archie Malmberg. He is survived by his children Logan Malmberg (Rachael Cornwell) with a grandson on the way and Lindsay Malmberg, all of Dixon. He is also survived by his sister-in-law JoAnn Malmberg of Dixon, nephew Douglas (Jessica) Malmberg of Sterling, nieces Heidi (Brent) Schmall of Deer Grove and Juliet Malmberg-Finch of Texas, and several great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Janet Malmberg, of Dixon.
Steve began his career as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver. He was employed by Schwerman Trucking in the 1970s prior to becoming an owner/operator of Malmberg Trucking. He also worked for several local companies including Pratt Farms, Charlie Lawrence Trucking, Dabney Trucking, Whatever Inc. Trucking, Anne’s Landscape Supply, Nutrien, and received an award for 20+ years of service from Ace Doran Hauling & Rigging Co.
Steve was a free spirit, avid boater, and “Captain Dad” of the pontoon and S.S. Recycler. He enjoyed spending time with friends, playing a good round of golf, and always loved a great joke. You might find him in the backyard grilling a steak or burger for his “grandpuppy”, Trip.
Visitation will be Friday, November 18, 2022 from 5:00 PM 7:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home in Dixon. Services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Jones Funeral Home as well. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon. The celebration of his life will continue at The Last Stop in Dixon with refreshments immediately following Saturday’s events.

Walter (Wally) H. Smith Born; December 6th, 1949 in Dixon, IL Died; October 22nd, 2022 in Rockford, IL. Walter H. Smith, age 72, died unexpectedly on October 22nd at OSF Saint Anthony Hospital in Rockford, IL. He was born in Dixon to Walter (Smitty) & Betty Smith. He attended Dixon Schools, graduating from Dixon High School.
Having many talents, he grew up surrounded by cars and parts. At a young age he began working for his father at Smitty's Used Cars & Parts. Throughout life he always had a love for cars and working on them. Later in life, he began driving truck until he became ill becoming home bound.
He is survived by Son; Josh (Abby) Smith. Grandchildren; Briar, Darley and Carter Aunt & Uncle Ron & Beverely Lynch. Preceded in death by Parents; Walter and Betty Smith, Brother; Howard (Howie) Smith, Granparents; Glenn & Helen Shuck and Howard & Margaret Reber.

Bruce Albert Stine

Bruce Albert Stine, 73, of Geneseo, IL (formally of Dixon) died peacefully in his home on Thursday, June 30th, 2022. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6th at First Baptist Church, 15300 Ford Rd., Geneseo. Rev. David Murphy will officiate. Private interment will be held in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Dixon. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Geneseo. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Geneseo is assisting the family with arrangements.
Bruce was born to the late Rev. Earl and Alberta (Fritz) Stine in Decatur, IL on January 16th, 1949. Throughout his adult life, he worked as a car detailer until his retirement in 2017. Bruce was thoughtful, loving, and enjoyed trains of all kinds. He was an involved member of First Baptist Church in Geneseo, IL. His love for God and sharing that with others was most important in his life.
Bruce married Diana Rizner on March 25th of 1968 and together they had two daughters. Upon Diana’s passing, he was blessed to love again and married Bonnie Talbot on October 6th, 2001.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Bonnie, daughters Patricia (Michael) Kessel of Littleton, IL, Christi (Phillip Jr) Plumb of Dixon, IL, and Kori (Paul) Franklin of Geneseo, IL, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a nephew.
Bruce is preceded in death by his wife, Diana, his parents, brother Earl Stine Jr, and sister, Sandra Davis.
